Kirkmania - Robert Kirkman
NO WEEKEND HOMEWORK!
May 2nd, 2008

I’m skipping Weekend Homework this weekend because of CAPE! in Texas which I probably should have told you about sooner.  Uh… I’ll be in Texas this weekend, come see me.

I’ll probably also skip it next weekend because I’ll be in Seattle at the EMERALD CITY COMIC-CON next weekend. So come see me there, too. I expect to see all of you at BOTH events.

In closing, I’d also like to add that the Iron Man movie is just as good as you heard it is–if not better. It’s awesome… if you’ve ever read a comic book before–you owe it to yourself to see this movie.

I did another interview.
April 30th, 2008

I did an interview for the website called www.geekscape.net that you can read HERE.

In the interview, the interviewer mentions there’s a bit of stuff cut out.  I thought it might be fun to share that with you here.  I should take this time to note that I am not in any way racist… we were all just joking around… about something as serious as racism… because we’re very insensitive people.  ENJOY!

Formatting on the interview was messing up all over the place… so I’m just linking the word document… hope that works.

I’m going to skip Weekend Homework this week, so this announcement can sit over the weekend.

WEEKEND HOMEWORK!
April 11th, 2008

Okay, the question this week is: What is more likely to make you purchase a comic for the first time, or continue reading a comic–the characters or the creators?

Which is more important to you?

If the creative team leaves a book, do you stay? Do you read certain titles no matter who is doing them?

What is more important to you?

Answer here!

Here’s an “Excerpt.”

The interview in print is over 50 pages long… enjoy!

LEXINGTON CON EMERGENCY!
April 5th, 2008

Okay, I goofed.  Every other year this thing is held at the Sheraton on Exit 115 off I-75.

THIS YEAR, i.e. TODAY it is being held at the Ramada Inn on Exit 113 off I-75.

Sorry to anyone making the drive.  I hope this reaches you.

WEEKEND HOMEWORK.
April 4th, 2008

I’m going to try and do this every week.  I’d like to get to know my fan base a little bit and I figure the best way to do it is just ask questions.  I’m starting with something pretty easy but I’ll eventually get into buying habits and personal interests and shoe size as we go on.

So please… participate!  Even if you’ve never posted on my message board before, give it a shot, get involved.  This will be fun.  The first question is HOW OLD ARE YOU?  I want to know.  Am I appealing to people my age?  Younger?  Much older?  A mix?  Help me find out.

Thanks in advance, and have a good weekend.  I recommend a trip to the lake!  Or swinging by that convention in Lexington on Saturday to say hi!  Tell me I sent you!

IMAGE FOUNDERS!
April 3rd, 2008

I gotta say–I’m pretty damn stoked about this:

Say what you will about this group–but nothing has energized the industry as much as them before or since… any time they get together in public it is historic.  Big ups to Mike Malve and Atomic Comics for putting this together.

I’ll be in Texas at CAPE 4 at the time, but hopefully Phoenix native, Cory Walker will send me photos… and another Savage Dragon baseball cap.
